India: Six injured in Chhattisgarh FDI explosion | India News

RAIPUR: Five security personnel, including four BSF members and a civilian, were injured when Naxalites blew up a truck with improvised explosive device [IED] to from Chhattisgarh . Bijapur District Wednesday, said a senior police official.

The incident took place around 9 in the morning at Bijapur Ghati, located about 7 km from the city of Bijapur, told PTI, Sundarraj P, Deputy Inspector General (anti-Naxalite operations).

"Four members of the Border Security Force (BSF), belonging to the 414e battalion, a district reserve commander (DRG) and a civilian who was driving the vehicle were injured in the improvised explosive device (IED) blast, "he said.

Reinforcements were sent to the scene and the wounded were transferred to a local hospital, he said, adding that a search operation was underway in the area.

Bijapur is located about 450 km from the capital, Raipur.
