revenues from Laquintinie hospital increase from 220 to more than 500 billion in three years

The revenues of the Laquintinie hospital in Douala have been constantly evolving for three years. The director of this health facility, Professor Noël Emmanuel Essomba, assures that this development is the result of a better revenue security policy. He took advantage of the fourth General Assembly of this hospital held last week to recall that when he was appointed in July 2020, this health facility generated revenues of around 220 million FCFA per month. Three years later, these revenues are estimated at more than 500 million FCFA.
He went on to say that this growth has led to improved treatment of staff. “The Laquintinie hospital is one of the rare health facilities where some doctors earn a million a month because of their performance,” said Professor Noël Emmanuel Essomba. In addition, Laquintinie has doubled the size of its staff, from 800 people in 2020 to nearly 1 today. “Everyone is paid every month,” says the director.
To continue to make this hospital profitable, Professor Noël Emmanuel Essomba now wants to modernize the payment system in place. To do this, he is announcing, in the coming days, innovations intended to boost performance. Starting with mobile money payments with the aim of decongesting the cash registers.
Placement of a pacemaker
Professor Noël Emmanuel Essomba does not hesitate to list this financial health among the “strengths” that make Laquintinie successful. This hospital has indeed been in the spotlight for several years. The proof is that the Minister of Public Health (Minsante), Malachie Manaouda, does not miss the opportunity to praise this health facility as last October, when a team from the cardiology department successfully carried out the very first operation to install a pacemaker on a patient.
Behind this operation, which has not gone unnoticed, lies another “strong point” of Lanquitinie which is the enrichment of the technical platform, as Professor Noël Emmanuel Essomba points out. A few months ago, the hospital inaugurated its very first hemodialysis center with great fanfare. The director announces the upcoming opening of a radiotherapy center.
Laquintinie already boasts a state-of-the-art MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) and two scanners. The director also took advantage of the holding of this fourth General Assembly to announce the arrival of heavy neurology equipment and many other modern examination devices.
