Earlier this week we were wondering whether Eternal would stick to its current release schedule. The massive Marvel Project has seen its fair share of delays during the pandemic. Disney and Marvel ultimately pushed it back to November 5, 2021. The plan to Eternal was to give it a regular theatrical release. That meant the movie wouldn't hit Disney Plus on the same day as theaters. The pandemic then worsened in the United States and other Western countries. We have seen more and more speculation that Disney and Marvel may be delaying the Eternal Release. Or the movie could get a hybrid release like Black Widow.

The Black Widow scandal
Disney CEO Bob Chapek said shortly after the Scarlett Johansson scandal spread to the public that the Shang-Chi The experience will help Disney decide what to do with subsequent versions like Eternal.
Black Widow turned out to be the biggest movie launch of the pandemic. Disney Plus contributed a significant portion of the revenue. Disney was thrilled with the Premier Access performance in mid-July. Black Widow was the first movie where Disney unveiled its streaming sales.
But the Black Widow hybrid version also brought to light the massive conflict between Disney and Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson. The actress sued Disney, alleging that the studio had broken the contract by opting for a date and date release. Disney handled the case anything but elegant, showing that Chapek was less interested in playing well with talent. Disney Plus revenue seemed to be a priority, however.
Marvel chief Kevin Feige said during the Shang-Chi red carpet premiere he would prefer Eternal to have a premiere only indoors. At the time, the number of coronavirus cases was already on the rise, with some studios considering delays. Since mid-August, we have seen such movements, with Top Gun: Maverick being one of the big titles of 2021 postponed to 2022.
Eternal do not go to Disney Plus Premier Access
But then Shang-Chithe experience of has been successful. The film set new pandemic records for Marvel. it did not beat Black Widowopening weekend, which included sales of Disney Plus. Corn Shang-Chi grossed nearly $ 95 million over the four-day Labor Day weekend.
Matthew Belloni, alumnus of Hollywood journalist, said in his newsletter that marvel is Eternal gets an exclusivity theatrical release. Chapek apparently made his decision after the Shang-Chi Success:
After Disney CEO Bob Chapek essentially dared Shang-Chi to perform in theaters over the Labor Day weekend, and it grossed $ 94 million nationwide, he couldn't put Eternal on Disney [Plus] day and date, right? I've been told that Chapek and chief cast Kareem Daniels have made their decision on the fate of the November film and that it will indeed receive exclusive theatrical release. (Disney declined to comment.) Marvel's Kevin Feige and Angelina Jolie's agents may expire now.
However, Disney has yet to make an official announcement.
Spider-Man: No Path Home side buzz, Eternal is the most ambitious and exciting Marvel project of the year. It features a team of 10 superheroes never before seen in the MCU movies. In addition, there is an eleventh character who will become a hero on the road. In addition to the overall distribution for Eternal, we'll also get the cinematic take on Oscar winner Chloe Zhao, who both wrote and directed the film.
Marvel fans looking to avoid theaters for the foreseeable future should know that Eternal is expected to reach Disney Plus 45 days after its theatrical debut. This means the film will likely land on Disney's streaming service by the end of 2021.
