The former Nigerien head of state donned for the occasion his new attire as president of the Issoufou Mahamadou Foundation (FIM), which he created in 2021 after leaving power.
Accompanied by the Nigerien Minister of the Environment, Garama Saratou Rabiou Inoussa, and by the High Commissioner for the 3N Initiative (Nigeriens nourish Nigeriens), Ali bety, he gave a speech on ecology in Africa, expressing, among other things, his ambition to relaunch an old project in Sahelian countries, the Great Green Wall.
On September 8, the former socialist president dined alone in Mauritania, with Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, who received him in the guest house of the presidency. He also spoke on August 1 in Côte d'Ivoire with Alassane Ouattara and had crossed the Nigerians Goodluck Jonathan et Muhammadu Buhari during the marriage of the latter's son, Yusuf, in Kano, on August 20.
