A building collapses and kills two in Babadjou

The testimonies accuse the quality of the material used for the construction.

Two dead and several injured. This is the balance sheet recorded following the collapse of a building under construction in Toumara, Babadjou district, West region.

As the motive for the frame which occurred this Tuesday morning around 9:30 am, the inhabitants point the finger at the poor quality of the construction material used.

 The same causes producing the same effects, this tragedy which is added to others in this case that which occurred in the Nsimeyong district in Yaoundé. Indeed, on December 20, 2019, a four-story building under construction collapsed today on several workers instead Shell Nsimeyong.

While construction was gradually coming to an end, this important four-storey infrastructure collapsed under the critical testimonies of residents:  "We could already see the cracks on the walls, a lot of people had already spoken about this affair, but they (the managers of the Dovv company, editor's note) did not listen, even the site manager is in the rubble",  an inhabitant of the area told us.

After multiple excavations, ten workers engaged in the realization of this site had been extracted from the rubble on the arrival of the team of firefighters.
