The Abidjan 2020 Performing Arts Market has officially opened. The launching ceremony took place this Saturday, March 7, at the Palace of Culture in Treichville, thus starting hostilities.
It took place in a festive atmosphere in front of an audience of personalities.
The Vice-President of the Republic Daniel Kablan Duncan, the Minister of the City Albert Amichia, the Minister of Culture Maurice Bandaman, stood out with their presence, without forgetting the representatives of Canada, the country invited to this edition.
Placed under the theme "Africa-world", the Masa 2020 will target a "more popular audience", said its Commissioner General, Yacouba Konaté.
Promising entertainment to the public, he also addressed his thanks to Canada, which is a country "Respecting the rights of indigenous nations".
Vice-President Duncan, Minister Amichia and Minister Bandaman, for their part, expressed their "Pride in discovering the city of Abidjan, a cultural capital for the time that the Masa will last".
Launched this Saturday, the Masa will close its doors on March 14. This week will be furnished with artistic performances (dances, graphic arts, theater, comedy shows, etc.) to the delight of festival-goers.
Nearly 3500 artists (including 2500 local artists and 1000 foreign artists) will stand out, to guarantee the success of this edition.
As a reminder, the Masa was launched for the first time in 1998. It is in its 11th edition.
