It is never the fault of anyone if one is born with a disability. However, this world has been programmed in such a way that people with disabilities often feel disadvantaged or hurt about their appearance.
Nevertheless, some people have managed to overcome this stereotype and live their lives to the full. Chassidy Young, who was born with tetra-amelie syndrome, is one example.
What is tetra-amelie syndrome?
Also known as autosomal recessive tetra-amelia, this condition is a rare congenital disorder characterized by the absence of all four limbs.
This genetic disease is caused by mutations in the WNT3 gene and other areas of the body are also affected.
Chassidy: different born
If someone deserved to hate his life, it was Chassidy Young because the young woman was born without her four members. However, she says she lives the best of lives!
"I would not know what to do if I woke up tomorrow, in a normal body with hands - I'm really and honestly comfortable with myself."
Despite her situation, Chassidy says she is very comfortable in her body but the young woman of 32 years admits that growing up has not been a pleasant experience because she has always been mocked because of her condition.
She said that in grade six, she was part of a dance team and participated in a competition. However, even though Chassidy knew the number, she was not allowed to accompany them because it was thought she would not have been able to do it.
She remembers crying that day and realizing that she was different.
Fortunately, thanks to her family, this bitter experience did not tarnish the self-esteem of the little girl she was then. Her family never treated her specifically and forced her to go through the process of childhood in the same way as everyone else.
She took care of the housework, went out whenever she wanted, and did absolutely everything.
Although Cassidy enjoys being independent, she can not do everything alone. This is where her sister Ashley and her longtime friend Candace come in.
Chassidy is a motivational speaker who helps people with disabilities feel good about themselves.
By addressing Barcroft TV, she said:
"I have this body; I love this body and I accept this body - that's what I am and I do not care who loves it or loves it because it suits me. "
When a woman loves each other, everyone appreciates it
The photos of Chassidy on Instagram receive many positive comments from Internet users who have seen its beauty and confidence.
"You have such a beautiful smile and you are beautiful."
"You are really amazing, glamorous and beautiful."
Despite her situation, Chassidy knows her personal worth, which makes her an incredible woman! She is an inspiration to us all!
