Brawlhalla: Ubisoft Partners with WWE for SummerSlam Special Event

The famous wrestlers Dwayne Johnson, John Cena, Xavier Woods and Becky Lynch are playable now in Brawlhalla, a free-to-play fighting game with Super Smash Bros. sauce.

While the thirty-second SummerSlam pay-per-view will take place this Sunday at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada, World Wrestling Entertainment, which is the world's largest wrestling company to promote its main annual summer show (one of the Big Five with Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, Money in the Bank and Survivor Series). So, the French publisher Ubisoft just announced a surprise partnership with the WWE for Brawlhalla. With more than 25 million active players, the Blue Mammoth studio license today will host an event in SummerSlam's colors with a new free game mode, Fierce Brawl, which includes a ring, breakable tables and attacks on the ropes.

WWE stars land in Brawlhalla

For only 300 Mammoth coins (around 10 euros), players can get their hands on the skins of four wrestlers from WWE (note that they will still be available for purchase after the end of the SummerSlam event):

  • Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Sentinel with a signature attack including an inflamed bull, lava and magma
  • John Cena in Hattori's skin with signature attack through ring ropes, smoke and camera flashes
  • Becky "The Man" Lynch in the skin of Gnash with a signature attack that allows him to create green flames around his fist and throw a table on his opponent in midair
  • Xavier Woods in the skin of Bodvar with a signature attack that shows his teammates: Kofi Kingston and Big E of the New Day team

For the record, Brawlhalla is available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Players can embody around forty unique characters and play solo or in cooperation.
