The heir of the Simca automobile empire donated 45 coins from his collection, including works by Congolese Chéri Samba and Ivorian Frédéric Bruly Bouabré, to the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA).
Heir of the Simca automobile empire and patented jet-setter, Jean Pigozzi was one of the first Westerners to take an interest in contemporary African artat the end of the 1980 years. His collection, created thanks to the advice of André Magnin, remains one of the best known. Following a donation, 45's coins will join the MoMA fund in New York.
