Here is a tutorial to recover your computer if you have forgotten your password, without having to reset it, so without losing any data!
- 1 blank USB key
- 1 accessible computer with Internet
- The computer you forgot the password
Download and install Lazesoft
You can download it via this link: http://www.lazesoft.com/download.html
Click on "Download" in front of "Lazesoft Recovery Suite 4.3 Home Edition (Free)"
A new page will open, click again on "Download Now".
Choose "Save File".
At the end of the download, click on the file you just downloaded.
A window should open.
Check the box "I accept the agreement"And click on"Next".
Click on "install".
Make your USB key bootable
After the previous step, a window should open.
After inserting your USB stick into your computer (it's rather logical ...), click on "BURN CD / USB DISK"
Here, you must specify the operating system version of the other computer.
Once done, click on "Next"
Check "USB Flash"And choose the letter corresponding to your USB key. Then click on "Start".
If you do not know for the letter, go see in your explorer like this:
A window warning you that your USB drive will be formatted, and therefore you must have previously saved your data opens. If your key is empty, no problem, otherwise copy your files that are on your key elsewhere.
Click on "Yes".
This message will appear, the operation will take a few minutes. Do not worry if it takes time;)
Boot on the USB stick
It will be here to start the other computer on the USB key.
So you will remove the USB stick from the accessible computer, and put it in a port on the other computer that will be off:
Then switch it on with the Power button, then directly after (where at the same time) hold the button "Escape"Until this screen appears (or F8, or any other key specific to your hardware to get this splash screen)
With the arrow keys, select the line corresponding to your USB key and press the key Starter.
This line will probably be different on your computer, so try lines that do not start with "P ...". At worst, try them one by one and see which allows you to get the same screen as here:
You should arrive on this interface:
She should remind you something :)
Click on "Password Recovery"Lower right.
Normally, nothing to touch here. Click on "Next".
There you are asked if you will use it for non-commercial use only. Click on "Yes".
Nothing to do either, "Next".
Here, select the user for whom you want to delete the password.
Normally, there should be "No" in "Blank Password". This confirms the presence of a password.
Click on "Next".
We arrive at the ultimate stage:
Click on "RESET / UNLOCK".
If all went well, this message should appear:
You can now restart your computer (with "Reboot" at the bottom for example) or turn it off.
When it turns on, no password will be asked!
