(Agence Ecofin) - Tunisian tourism sector revenues were 1,1 billion dinars (369 million dollars) in the first four months of 2019, which represents an increase of 36,4% over the same period of 2018, according to data published on May 15 by the Central Bank of Tunisia.
This increase is mainly due to the currency effect. The Tunisian dinar has indeed depreciated 18,5% against the US dollar and 10,5% against the euro, between late April 2018 and end of April 2019.
As a reminder, revenue from the tourism industry had reached 1,36 billion in 2018.
