Cameroon: Two Islamists die in fighting with the army

The Cameroonian army killed two fighters of the Islamist sect Boko Haram during heavy fighting on Saturday night in Sanda-Wadjiri Far-North region.

The incursions of Boko Haram terrorists have intensified in recent weeks in several localities in the Far North of Cameroon.

One of them happened in the night of Saturday 13 to Sunday 14 April 2019. Attackers attacked the locality of Sanda-Wadjiri, including a military position. In response, the army shot some of them.

The army's response came after "an attack by a group of Boko Haram terrorists against our defense forces," said a security source on condition of anonymity.

"Two terrorists were killed several others wounded there is no loss in the ranks of the Cameroonian army," continues our source.

The 12 last April, 4 Cameroonian soldiers were killed in the explosion of an artisanal mine on the Gouzda-Vreket axis at the passage of an army vehicle.
